On conscientious hashtagging, and what makes an outfit an outfit

Since finishing my exams, I've had some time to really reflect on life, and start asking the big questions. You know, like 'why are we here?', 'what is beauty?', and, perhaps most importantly, 'what the hell did people do before social media?'. I mean, how on earth did they procrastinate? People must have actually got stuff done instead of sharing cat videos with facebook friends and trawling through inane hashtags on twitter. Man, I know. Shit's gotten deep recently.

Boo exams. Boo exams for making me compulsively eat cereal straight out of the packet, and boo exams for making me neglect British Vague. Boo.

Only downside is they got rid of the 'and balls' bit.

Let me take you on a journey through time and babes, also known as The History of the Breton Top. Firstly time: the Breton top as we know it today came into being following the 1858 Act of France, which introduced the navy and white striped knitted shirt as the uniform for all French navy seamen in Brittany. Fact. Secondly babes, because Breton been worn by many a babe over the years. Coco Chanel? Check. Jean Seberg? Check. Audrey Hepburn? Check. Brigitte Bardot? Check. And, most recently, we've seen the striped wonder repeatedly gracing the frames of It Girls Alexa Chung and Olivia Palermo. Check.

BRILLIANT OR BONKERS?

Unique. Individual. Distinctive. These are words that I'm pretty sure every fashion-enthusiast strives towards.

This looks bonkers. I can't pull this off. I look like I have 14 cats. These are words that I'm pretty sure every fashion-enthusiast has felt at least every once in a while. Or I do anyway.

An ode to Emma Watson and tracksuits.

Emma Watson has been so on point lately. She never puts a single perfectly-clad-in-Jimmy-Choo foot wrong. I mean, every outfit is like BAM - another one knocked out the ball park! For Pete's sake, the girl has a wardrobe so good she makes me talk in sports metaphors.

Just to clarify for those less-warped-than-I individuals who don't watch unhealthy amounts of TV crime drama, the title's funny/mildly amusing coz it sounds like 'prime suspect', and I'm wearing primary colours. Hilarious. And also to clarify, yes that is me in the photos wearing ABSOLUTELY NO BLACK - I know, it's an Easter miracle!
